Recycling at home
has become routine. Sort it and set it out. But what about businesses
that don't receive curbside pick up? Most simply don't do it -
it's much easier to walk five feet to the dumpster and donate
it to the landfill.
Why should you
care? Because buying eco-friendly products is only half the battle.
The ecology of commerce is the other half!
Extreme Recycling
is what we call our daily efforts to reduce the waste associated
with doing business:
- Grass Roots has never purchased any cardboard boxes to ship
our orders. ALL boxes are reclaimed from shipments we receive
or from neighboring businesses. Remember: REUSING
IS TWICE AS GOOD AS RECYCLING!
- All day-to-day printing is done on the blank sides of junk
mail: We calculate a monthly savings of over 500 sheets of paper!
- All unusable paper, cardboard, newsprint, plastic, metal and
glass are recycled the old fashioned way–a weekly trip
to the recycling station.
